We specialize in the installation of roof-mounted (parking) air conditioners for campers, minibuses, and cars designed for long-distance travel.

The main brand we work with is StandHeiz (Poland). This is a reliable and affordable solution that has proven itself well in practice. We also have experience installing equipment from premium manufacturers such as Dometic, Truma, IndelB, and Webasto. However, the cost of such systems is significantly higher, so for most projects, we recommend solutions with an optimal price-quality ratio. We prefer not to deal with brands like Sunster, KingClima, Coolpro, etc. — these are all identical budget Chinese devices from a single factory.

What is Included in the Installation Kit

For the full and reliable operation of the system, we install the following components:

  1. Roof parking air conditioner.
  2. Additional LiFePO4 battery with a capacity of 100 Ah.
  3. DC-DC charger for charging the battery from the vehicle’s alternator and, if necessary, from solar panels.
  4. A set of power wiring, protective elements, and fuses.
  5. Mounting and installation elements, manufactured and selected individually for the specific vehicle.

We do not install air conditioners without an additional battery, as this option does not provide sufficient autonomy and reduces operational reliability. For most projects, we use EcoWorthy batteries, which are characterized by compactness, reliability, and compliance with the declared specifications. An additional advantage is the built-in Bluetooth module for monitoring the battery status via smartphone.

Vehicle Requirements and Preparation

Before starting work, several important conditions must be taken into account:

  1. The vehicle’s alternator must have a capacity of at least 150 A. Before installation, we always check this parameter.
  2. It is necessary to determine in advance the placement of the additional battery and charger, taking into account the characteristics of the specific vehicle.
  3. If a sunroof is already installed on the vehicle, the air conditioner is usually mounted in its place.
  4. If there is no sunroof, it will be necessary to cut a mounting hole in the roof. This is an irreversible modification to the body structure and must be taken into account by the vehicle owner.
  5. In passenger minibuses with factory interior trim, it is not always possible to completely hide the power wiring. In some cases, part of the cables may run inside a decorative corrugated tube within the cabin.

Installation Process

In most cases, installation takes two business days.

First Day

  • Partial disassembly of cabin elements.
  • Marking and preparation of mounting holes.
  • Cutting the hole in the roof.
  • Installation of EPDM gasket and sealing.
  • Planning routes for laying wires.

Second Day

  • Air conditioner mounting.
  • Installation of the additional battery and charger.
  • Laying wires and connecting equipment.
  • System operation check and final testing.

Installation Features

The air conditioner, additional battery, and charger are connected to the vehicle’s electrical system via separate power lines.

The negative wire connects directly to the negative terminal of the battery or to the nearest factory ground point. This is necessary to minimize voltage losses, since during operation the system can consume a current of up to 60 A.

On some vehicles, the roof design requires additional reinforcement. If during the installation process it becomes obvious that the factory reinforcements are insufficient for secure mounting of the air conditioner, we recommend manufacturing an additional frame or installing reinforcements. Such work is agreed upon separately and may affect the final cost of the project.

Cost of Work

The minimum cost of installation depends on the design of the vehicle and the location of the main battery.

  • If the main battery is accessible from the vehicle cabin — from €300.
  • If the battery is located under the hood and additional laying of power cables is required — from €400.
